Most therapeutic schools bully their students in order to gain control….!
This is what has scared teachers teaching assistants carers and support staff in every Behavioural Difficulties School that I have ever worked in, this includes colleges and alternative educational establishments. Give m a day and I’ll have the students doing something new, give me a week and I’ll have them acting as who they are regardless of history, give me six weeks and you will wonder why they are not in mainstream education. The problem that I have always found is that of the teachers teaching assistant’s carers and support staff are small minded and restrict students from breaking their own cycles and thereby restrict their development. My fist action when I am given a class is to kick out the support staff and teaching assistants until such a time as I know they are capable of unconditional positive regard not only in relation to the students but all persons. You know you have had a good lesson when the students leave your class and go “kickoff” somewhere else often placed into a situation where there is no exit by an adult whom is meant to be helping them. The worst places I have ever been where adults are the bullies and disruptive to the point of lying and disrupting classes in order to get the young people to “kickoff” are http://www.acorncare.co.uk/provisions/thegrange/and http://www.swalcliffepark.co.uk/ along with http://www.colchester.ac.uk/ whom fought me tooth and nail not to have students take gcse maths and English suckers it was worth loosing the job and going over your heads just to have four students break their life cycles ;D the worse college I have seen and not actually worked in is that of http://www.stamford.ac.uk/ along withhttp://www.goodschoolsguide.co.uk/schools/200766/trinity-college what’s the point of taking on students with difficulties if you are going to call the police on them every five minutes jokers just looking free money…..!
